It's alive!!! ALIVE!!

With all the super sad and meaningful films around I decided that I cannot be dealing with it, so I watch something light... I, Frankenstein... I actually seen it twice. And I think now I know how I feel about this film.

So when I saw this for the 1st time, I knew I enjoyed visual... It was a bit Gothic, dark, beautifully executed, good effects, good looking actors, amazing location and an interesting plot.... But there was something that was bothering me.

As you know I am a sucker for a main dude, who is misunderstood, preferably half nude and involved in some fights, muddy with swords. So I am biased a bit...

Victor Frankenstein had created a human, reanimated him. Then though, poop, what have I done, must kill that thing... Well thing did not die, but took revenge on his maker. By doing so he came across some demons and gargoyles.

The whole story kicks off when Adam (main dude with sexy abs) goes back to the cities to hunt instead of being hunted. Good action scenes all around, some of them a bit sloppy I though and were not choreographed properly, but eye catching.

However, after watching it today I can tell that there are some faults or things were too simplified... Such a, big evil by Bill Nighy, been called by name to clarify it for the viewer when it was actually dead obvious, and the last scene... WTF! That's like that scene from the 1st Spider man movie with Toby Maguire when Spidey show next to american flag, beyond cheesy!

Another thing I though was a bit strange for film sake, "most trusted" guard or a fighter makes a silly move. I think there should be more to story, that he loves the Queen, that would make sense. But that story line was not developed. Film seem to lost bits of it in the editing room, looks like there were a lot of things altered and taken out. I think it should have more stories between characters...

But it is still a spectacular film, visually could have been like not boring Zach Synder film!

Well, I definitely more interested in Aaron Eckhart, he did not have many lines but he had a lot of looking into the camera looks. And these abs!!

And I actually want to get my hands on this graphic novel.... :)

I would definitely see it again, but its one of these films I really enjoy...

It was kind of like Buffy the vampire Slayer, but you know Adam the demon descender...

Khhhaaaann!!!! Star Track into the Darkness (spoilers!)

I guess I am the only one who just saw new Star Track film... well it was me and hubby. We went to Cineworld! Yes, no more Odeon for me! So happy, you know how I feel about Odeon...

When my co-blogger Owen went to see Into the Darkness he said just one thing to me:
"Benedict does steal every scene"

And oh boy!!... But first thing first.

I do not like Star Track series, they are just too dated for me. Sorry. I like Sci-Fi... not all of it but some definitely, I am a bit of a geek.

Husband did say that I need to watch The Wrath of Khan (if you didn't know Star Track did the films too)to understand the jokes that the opening scenes refer to.. well maybe one day.

(if you haven't seen it yet now it is a good time to stop reading)

Opening scenes showed us this small world that is on the verge of distraction by volcanic eruption... But Jim  Kirk being a human that he is decides to save it. A lot of running around, many funny comments, but Spock almost dies.... I think this kind of sets the mood really.
Spock was very puzzled about the whole big deal with the human emotion. Zachary Quinto did a very good job of that too! I was very moved by his speech to Uhura when they were about to land on Chronos.

Then it all kicks off with sad scenes form London featuring lovely Noel Clarke who I love since he was Mickey in Dr Who (geek, told you!) and the dramatic appearance of Khan.

And when they do get on the planet of "Cornish pasties"... well I'm sorry but Klingon do look like them a bit, action scene ... Benedict Cumberbatch is magnificent! Every move is captivating. It was truly amazing...Ok I might be slightly biased on that...

Since I obviously had no idea what would happened and appart from the whole genocide thing I really wanted Khan to win! Yes, he was that good!
The comedy moments been provided by very sexy "Bones" (Karl Urban) and Mr Scott (Simon Pegg), fun all around. I do think that's a good film make, really: action must be awesome, excellent effects and fight scenes,  comedy and men candy!

However....the whole Kirk dying thing I saw this coming really... Magic blood and what not, so ending was a bit predictable.

(you can start reading again)

The action the story the characters well worth watching!
I really enjoyed it, and I think will be watching it again and again. Highly recommend it!

Written by Daria who seem to be still in love with Benedict Cumberbatch with black hair. I think blond just don't do it for me.

No suits, rock hard muscles.... I finally watched Iron Man 3

Now this has been a truly well spent time in Odeon. And you know how I feel about Odeon Bath.

But Iron Man 3 and Robert D.J put a smile back on my grumpy face!

What could happen post alien attack and super Evil Loki... well puny God how Hulk has put it? Where do you go from here? Well one can always do an origin story like Wolverine or X-men 1st class, which are by the way are both excellent films... But then you cannot really do this with Iron Man. This film was less about the iron suit more about flesh and blood Tony Stark. I have to agree with my co-blogger Owen Iron Man 3 did not disappoint!

Tony Stark is a same cocky man but this time he is bothered by what has happened in New York and he cannot deal with it very well. He is very very human, like the rest of us. The audience can relate more to his character  he is just billionaire, philanthropist  genius and a playboy, now he is also scare and venerable like the rest of us at times.

The cast is superb! Second Guy Pearce appeared on the screen I thought to my self, "Oh, you do not mess with him!" and how right I was. Great meany! And Sir Ben... was a true gem as The Mandarin, big evil terrorist. He was just too funny!

As Owen I did enjoy Tony Stark's friendship with the Kid... But one of my favorite scenes was when Tony gets into the Madarin compound, with out a suit of Iron. He can certainly be next James Bond:)

And the sight of Gwyneth's abs... And her saying "Oh my god this was so violent!"

Go watch it! You will love it!

Great action, intrigue, comedy, techy and very very charismatic actors! Brilliant film.... No open ending!
